Tournament Trail for 2004

Championship 2004

North East River - Susquehanna Flats

Our Championship held out of Anchor had a different touch this year. Brandywine Bassmasters had their annual Fall Open the same day and to make things fun we decided to allow our teams to fish both if they wanted. We worked out return times to allow the teams that did fish both time to weigh in at Brandywine first and then move over to our scales.

Our little club has some very competitive fishermen and we felt we could have a good showing at their open. We were right. Our teams took some cash and prizes from the open as well as finished high in our club Championship.

First I want to congratulate John Richick and Dave Crocken how was our Points winners for 2004. John and Dave took last year off and came back with a solid year. Way to go and thanks for the support.

Dave Kilby and Skip Walters culled to First Place with 18.07 and a kicker of 4.75 lbs. Great job guys. Dave and Skip flipped the remaining good grass on the flats with big tubes for quality fish. Sam McMullin and Cris Boder were right behind in Second Place with 17.04 and Lunker of 4.79. Sam brought his little boat to go up in the rocks of the Susquehanna for the big smallies but I didn't see any brown fish so I suspect he never made it to the skinny water. Nice job. Walt Ross and Willie Barrett took third with 13.29.

Thanks to all for a good year. Look for next years schedule very soon.

John
