Furnace Bay Angling Products, LLC - Team Trail Tournament Rules
The intent of the Furnace Bay Rods Team Trail is to offer our customers and friends an opportunity to fish in local small tournaments for fun, to learn, and compete for bragging rights and a little cash. Our tournaments are to be light-hearted and friendly. This series is not intended to be the tough competition type, where every fisherman is pitted against each other. There are many other tournaments for that type of competition: we can help you locate them if you desire.
We encourage teams of husbands and wives, parents and children, and, of course, just a couple of buddies, to come on out and have fun. Normal tournament hours are safe light to 3:30 p.m., unless weather conditions dictate otherwise. The Tournament Director will determine if conditions are safe on the morning of the tournament. If we have to cancel due to weather refunds can be made or you can push your entry to the next tournament. If you have questions regarding weather, please call John at 1-443 553 -5823 cell.

Applications and money must be submitted by Friday prior to the tournament. Any other arrangements MUST be made through Sandy at the Furnace Bay Rods Pro Shop.

RULES
1) Have fun.
2) Children may participate if accompanied by a parent.
3) Life jackets will be worn anytime the big motor is running. Children under 12 years will wear approved floatation devices at all times.
4) Each contestant is responsible for having the appropriate licenses for the waters being fished.
5) Aberdeen Proving Ground creeks and prohibited areas are off limits at all times.
6) Only artificial lures may be used.
7)Scoring will be on a 100point system. The first place team will receive 100 points per tournament, second place, 99 points, and so on. Teams participating but not bringing fish to the scales, will all earn equal points. For example: 20 boats fish, 18 boats weigh fish: winner receives 100 points, eighteenth place receives 82 points; the two remaining participating teams EACH receive 81 points.
8) Ties will be broken by the largest fish, number of fish caught, and then by a flip of a coin.
9) Teams returning late will be disqualified. Period.
10) Every team must check in, even if there are no fish to weigh. If you have to leave early due to boat trouble or whatever, please call the cell phone number given in the morning, or place a note on my car. DO NOT JUST LEAVE WITHOUT TELLING SOMEONE!! We worry about our teams and need to know they are back safe.
11) You may substitute partners during the series. The new partners must pay the membership fee of $20.00.
12) All teams who fish at least two regular tournaments may fish the Championship.
13) All boaters are responsible to have their equipment in good working order; there will be an "on the water" boat check at the start. Life jackets must be snapped or zipped, live wells working, and kill switch attached to the driver.
14) You may use your own bags to bring your fish to the scales. Bags will be available at the ramp.
15) PROTEST. A written protest against any team for violations must be entered before the weigh-in is completed, including the $50 deposit. Two uninvolved teams will be chosen to listen to the complaints and then vote whether to disqualify the protested team. If they rule in favor of the protested team, the $50 will go into the Lunker fund for that tournament. The Tournament Director will still have the final "say" in all matters of protest or legality, and will have the right to remove from the series any team found to be cheating or acting in an unsportsman-like manner. If you feel that you must cheat to win, please fish with some other group.
16) If needed, there will be a meeting each tournament morning and one member from each team must attend.
17) Launch order will be the order registrations were recieved. The "trickle start" method will be used, even if there are two flights.
18) Boats may be pulled out before you weigh your fish at all Furnace Bay tournaments.
19) Dead fish will be a 0.25 of a pound penalty.
20) Tournament limits are five fish per team, with length governed by the DNR regulations in force at that particular tournament.
21) When two lunkers are being paid (over 30 boats registered), only one Lunker per BOAT allowed.
